Fr. J. Michael Ewert was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on August 16, 1932, the son of Michael P. Ewert and Ruth Willman. He has one older sister, Mary Ruth Cullen.

One of his most memorable experiences was serving as a chaplain in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. Another memory he enjoys was having Mass on game days for the Cleveland Browns.

He enjoys the wonderful game of golf!

Having served his friar brothers on the Provincial Council and as Visitor General for the Immaculate Conception Province in the USA and in Central America were his most gratifying experiences. Fr. Michael is serving as supply minister for the Sacred Heart Province and for the diocese of Springfield-in-Illinois.
