THE WORD Psalm 71:14-18a
I will always hope in you and add to all your praise.
My mouth shall proclaim your just deeds,
though I cannot number them all.
I will speak of the mighty works of the Lord,
O God, I will tell of your singular justice.
God, you have taught me from my youth;
To this day I proclaim your wondrous deeds.
Now that I am old and gray, do not forsake me, Lord,
That I may proclaim your might to generations to come.
THE SOURCES Rule of 1221 17:17-18
And let us refer all good to the most High and Supreme Lord God and acknowledge that everything good is His and thank Him from whom all good things come. And may He the Highest and Supreme, who alone is true God, have, be given and receive every honor, reverence, praise, blessing, thanks, glory, for every good is His, who alone is good.

The Day-to-Day
Loosing our independence, our freedom to move about at will and the power to make our own decisions are scary, frustrating, yet inevitable experience which caccompany the aging process. These are painfully felt even more when we must accept a transfer to a skilled nursing facility like Villa West in Sherman.
Nevertheless, we must be men of hope. We may be intensely aware of what we cannot do, but have we taken inventory of what we can still do? Do we offer our infirmities withthe Paschal Mystery we celebrate daily?
Hope motivates us to do this willingly.
