The Preaching Ministry

One of the more famous, if apocryphal stories about St. Francis is that he is supposed to have said, "Preach always, if necessary use words."  None of the 13th century biographers of the Poverello record such a statement.  However, there is one story which may have given rise to the sentiment.  Francis and one of the brothers set out to preach one day.  They walked through the entire town from one end to the other.  As they were leaving the town, the brother said to St. Francis, "I thought we were going to preach."  St. Francis responded, "Brother, that's exactly what we were doing."

Franciscans have carried the Gospel with them wherever they go.  Today, a number of the friars of Sacred Heart Province are involved in the preaching ministry.  Many of them have their own web pages.  Below, you can find information about these friars as well as information about how to contact them.
